「Disability-Inclusive Healthcare Facility Renovation Project (Phase 2)를

성공적으로 완료하였습니다.

이번 사업은 “Disability-Inclusive Health Promotion Project”의 일환으로,

장애인과 노인을 포함한 이동 취약 계층이

보다 안전하고 전문적인 의료 서비스를 받을 수 있도록 의료 환경을 개선하기 위해 추진되었습니다.

🏥 장벽을 허물고, 치료의 문을 넓히다

기존 병원 시설은 이동이 불편한 주민들에게 물리적 제약이 존재했습니다.

이번 리모델링은 이러한 장벽을 제거하고,

누구나 안전하게 이용할 수 있는 환경을 만드는 데 중점을 두었습니다.

경사로 설치 / 미끄럼 방지 바닥 시공 / 출입문 폭 확장 / 접근성을 고려한 공간 재설계

이를 통해 휠체어 사용자와 거동이 불편한 주민도

더 편리하게 병원을 이용할 수 있게 되었습니다.

🩺 전문 재활치료 공간의 새 출발

장애포용 설계를 반영한 치료 공간을 조성하여,

전문적인 재활치료 서비스가 가능하도록 환경을 개선했습니다.​

현재 물리치료실은:

만성 통증 관리 환자 치료

건강검진을 통해 발굴된 주민 대상 재활 지원

지속적인 지역 기반 재활 관리 체계 구축의

거점 역할을 수행하고 있습니다.

📊 이용자 만족도로 확인된 변화

시설 재개관 이후 환자와 의료진을 대상으로 실시한 만족도 조사 결과,​

전체 만족도: 3.45 / 4.0​

의료진 만족도: 3.55 / 4.0

지역 주민 만족도: 3.34 / 4.0

특히 이용자의 약 60%는 만성 통증 관리 목적으로 방문했으며,

응답자의 95%가 매우 높은 만족도를 표시했습니다.

이는 시설 개선이 실제 치료 접근성과 의료 서비스 질 향상으로 이어졌음을 보여줍니다.

 

🌏 지역 의료 접근성의 새로운 기준

 

이번 리모델링은 단순한 시설 보수가 아닌,

장애 여부와 관계없이 누구나 동등하게

치료받을 수 있는 환경을 구축하는 과정이었습니다.

 

RI Korea는 KOICA와 함께

캄보디아 Ang Snuol 지역에서 지속가능한 장애포용 보건 모델을 확산해 나가고 있습니다.

 

앞으로도 지역사회 중심의 의료 접근성 강화를 위한 노력을 이어갈 예정입니다.

– RI Korea, in collaboration with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), has officially announced the successful completion of the "Disability-Inclusive Healthcare Facility Renovation Project" at the Ang Snuol Referral Hospital. This initiative, part of the "Disability-Inclusive Health Promotion Project (Phase 2)," marks a significant milestone in improving medical accessibility for persons with disabilities and the elderly in the region.

Creating a Barrier-Free Medical Environment The renovation project, which took place from December 2024 to September 2025 with a total investment of over $18,600, focused on transforming existing hospital spaces into accessible, high-quality treatment areas. Key improvements include:

• Establishment of a Modern Physical Therapy Unit: Renovated with barrier-free access to provide professional rehabilitation services.
• Enhanced Health Education Room: A dedicated space created to train local 'Health Keepers' and medical professionals.
• Disability-Inclusive Infrastructure: Installation of ramps, non-slip flooring, and widened doorways to ensure safe and easy movement for patients with mobility impairments.

High Satisfaction Among Patients and Staff Following the reopening, a comprehensive satisfaction survey conducted among patients and medical staff yielded outstanding results. The facility received an overall satisfaction score of 3.45 out of 4.0.

• Medical Staff (3.55/4.0): Highlighted the improved work environment and the professional layout of the treatment rooms.
• Local Residents (3.34/4.0): Approximately 60% of users visited the unit for chronic pain management, with 95% of respondents expressing "Very High Satisfaction" and stating that no further improvements were needed.

A Sustainable Model for Health Equity "The completion of these renovations is more than just a structural change; it represents our commitment to health equity," said a representative from RI Korea. "By removing physical barriers at the Ang Snuol Referral Hospital, we are ensuring that quality rehabilitation and medical education are accessible to everyone, regardless of their physical abilities."

Future Outlook The newly renovated Physical Therapy Unit is already serving as a hub for community health. It currently provides specialized care for residents identified during recent health screenings and serves as the primary training ground for local health activists. RI Korea and KOICA will continue to monitor the facility's impact and support the hospital in maintaining these inclusive standards.
