장애포용 시설개선 사업을 성공적으로 완료하였습니다.

​

이번 사업은 “Disability-Inclusive Health Promotion Project”의 일환으로,

장애인과 임산부를 포함한 지역 주민들이 보다 안전하고 존엄하게

의료 서비스를 이용할 수 있도록 의료 접근성을 개선하는 데 목적을 두었습니다.

🚪 물리적 장벽을 허물다

2025년 8월부터 11월까지 진행된 이번 리모델링은

기존 시설 이용에 어려움을 겪던 취약계층의 불편을 해소하는 데 집중했습니다.

✔ 장애포용 화장실 전면 개선

휠체어 이용자와 이동이 불편한 주민도 안전하게 사용할 수 있도록

설계 기준에 맞춰 전면 개보수하였습니다.

휠체어 사용자 및 거동이 불편한 주민들이

자유롭게 출입할 수 있도록 경사로를 설치했습니다.

✔ 의료 환경 개선

보다 환영받는 분위기 속에서 진료를 받을 수 있도록

전반적인 의료 서비스 환경을 개선하였습니다.

📊 사용자 만족도 3.85 / 4.0 달성

리모델링 이후 의료진과 지역 주민을 대상으로 만족도 조사를 실시한 결과,

평균 3.85점(4점 만점)이라는 높은 평가를 받았습니다.​

의료진: 3.6 / 4.0

→ 장애인 환자 진료 시 돌봄이 훨씬 수월해졌다고 응답

지역 주민: 3.55 / 4.0

→ 보건소 방문이 이전보다 훨씬 편리해졌다고 평가

이번 시설 개선 사업은 단순한 리모델링을 넘어,

RI Korea는 KOICA와 함께 지역사회 중심의 건강 증진 모델을 확대하며,

캄보디아 Ang Snuol 지역의 의료 접근성 향상을

지속적으로 지원해 나갈 예정입니다.

– RI Korea, in partnership with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), announced the successful completion of the "Disability-Inclusive Facility Renovation Project" at the Peuk Health Center in Ang Snuol District. This initiative, part of the "Disability-Inclusive Health Promotion Project," significantly enhances medical accessibility for persons with disabilities and pregnant women in the local community.

Enhancing Dignity and Access The renovation, carried out between August and November 2025, focused on removing physical barriers that previously hindered vulnerable groups from using the health center's essential facilities. Key improvements include:

• Accessible Restroom Facilities: Complete renovation of restrooms to meet disability-inclusive standards.
• Installation of Safety Slopes: Construction of ramps to ensure safe and easy access for wheelchair users and those with mobility impairments.
• Environment Improvement: Upgrading the general medical service environment to foster a more welcoming and equitable healthcare setting.

A Significant Leap in User Satisfaction Following the renovations, a satisfaction survey was conducted among medical staff and local residents. The project achieved an impressive average score of 3.85 out of 4.0 for the improved restroom facilities and safety slopes.

• Medical Staff (3.6/4.0): Noted that the renovations have made it significantly easier to provide care for patients with disabilities.
• Local Residents (3.55/4.0): Responded that visiting the health center has become much more convenient than before.

Commitment to Health Equity "The renovation of the Peuk Health Center is a vital step toward achieving health equity in Ang Snuol," said a representative from RI Korea. "By ensuring that even the most basic facilities like restrooms are accessible to everyone, we are protecting the dignity of persons with disabilities and encouraging them to seek medical care more frequently."

Addressing Future Challenges While the renovation successfully improved accessibility, the survey also identified ongoing needs such as lack of patient beds and the need for dedicated maternity education rooms. RI Korea and KOICA remain committed to these findings, planning further phased support to ensure comprehensive healthcare improvements in the region.
